Your personal directory is storage space allocated by the University for each individual student, faculty, and staff to use. This space allows you to save information while at school without using disks or flash drives. It is commonly referred to as the H:\ Drive for students, faculty, and staff. Only the individual has access to information that they save in their personal directory.

Intended Audience

This Quicknote is intended for current faculty, staff, and students who would like to know more about personal storage that is available to them here at the University of Michigan-Flint.

*Important Information*

Unfortunately, network drives like the H:\ and I:\ drive will be going away at end of the year 2020. What will be replacing the H:\ drive is the new Google Drive included with your Umich Google account.
To access your Google Drive, please navigate to drive.umich.edu.

The following Quicknote can be used to assist with logging into the Google Drive Service: M+Google Drive: General Information. While ITS does not move your data off of H:\ drives, we can provide guidance on the process. We recommend using this Quicknote as a reference for moving your data: Backing up Important Data

This Quicknote requires that you have access to your H:\ drive. The links below can help you in setting up or accessing your personal H:/ drive:
